“Indeed, soccer is a sport that creates a common understanding among players and fans regardless of language.”
-Gaetan Moussa, Tandana’s Program Manager in Ecuador
Soccer and Tandana
Tandana partners with indigenous communities in remote areas of Ecuador and Mali to support them in achieving their goals as well as to address global inequalities through caring intercultural relationships. One of the ways we foster intercultural relationships between volunteers from the U.S. and local community members is to organize soccer games between the groups to create opportunities for bonding and learning from each other. We also help our partners with community projects, including constructing sports stadiums.
